My Five Dollar Table and Annie Sloan.......not together.

I paid $4.94 for this baby!
Even my hubby thought I did good...it's VERY heavy.
I can't find my before picture.
But trust me it was not very nice.
I have never stained anything in my life.
I didn nothing to the legs but clean them up..

I sanded for days....not knowing when to stop.

Then I opened the stain I bought at a garage sale.
I should have taken a picture of that. The top was all rusted.
It was Minwax Wood Finish in Dark Walnut 2716...

Again had no clew what I was doing.
Just dipped the brush and started brushing it on.
Sooooo dark and I'm a white girl.  I then put Minwax Paste Finishing wax on it.

But I liked it!!!

I'm trying to show you how dark it is.
I love the contrast of the light cream and sugar bowls my mother painted a long time ago.
She's gone now but she would be so proud that I use them everyday.
If she were still here I would have her locked in a room painting roses on everything.
I didn't realize how wonderful she painted.
I never told her..it makes me sad.

The imperfections make it perfect!!!

Yesterday I went to an Antique Mall in Tavares Florida that I heard sold Annie Sloan paint.
I should have taken pictures of the shop.
They are closing but are moving to Mt Dora and opening up another shop, High Falootin Mercantile.
I think this is going to be awesome.
The lady's~Denna, Lou and Ellen have been so nice.
I'm just figuring this all out.
It was a great mall.
I can't believe I didn't know about them.
I don't go to far from home.  As you can tell.

Tavares Antique Mall gave me this great bag...

And look how the wrapped them up for me.
So thoughtful..
I had a very difficult time deciding what color to buy.

When he opened this I knew!
I love turquoise and this is perfect.

Had to have this.

I already have the dark wax so this was all I needed to get started.
Why I bought the dark was before I bought the paint??
My friend Denise of The Rusty Gate was in Tampa at Robyn Story Designs shop and asked what she pick up for me.
That's another place I need to get to..
I knew I wanted to pick out the paint colors myself so I had her get just the wax.
Thanks Denise!!!

It's like getting a new doll.
I love to open a new can of paint and this Annie Sloan paint is amazing..worth every penny!!!
Just don't tell the hubby how much it cost..shhhhh
This is when I'm glad he doesn't read my blog..

Blogger is not being very nice.  I have a couple other pictures of frames that won't download.
Anyway..I'm painting a few of these old barn wood frames.
I had to stop painting last night because I didn't have enough light.
So I will finish today and show you later.
I'm off to our booth to do a big change.
I will try to remember to take pictures to show you that too.
Have a great day and if you are in Irene's path my prayers are with you.  She stayed away from us.
But it's not over yet.
Enjoy your day my friends!!

Thanks Debra!

Thank you Diann!

Your table turned out great! Good job...I like the contrast of the dark and light, too. Glad you made it to the Tavares mall. I picked up three more cans of paint myself. I am excited about the Duck Egg Blue. I started a metal lamp...I'll let you know how it turns out. Let us know how your frames turn out. I have so much furniture to paint, I just have to get started...maybe these new colors will inspire me to get to work on them. Hope to catch up soon. Say "hi" to Kathy for me.

Deciding on what color to use is always hard for me too.
