French drying rack! I think?

I have always wanted one of those large French drying racks. Then I saw this here and had to have it.

I'm still playing with it to figure out where I want to put it. It's to tall for my kitchen counter.

Friends continued

I visited my friend from high school last weekend. She has been my maid of honor in all of my weddings(3 but that's another blog)! Now what kind of friend would do that? The best!

She found out she has cancer on Dec 2nd. She started chemo in December. I have never been thru this process or seen anyone go thru it.
The side effects are terrible. Losing her hair seems to be the least of her problems. I wish I could be there all the time to help her. She has lots of support. She is having another treatment today. I'm thinking of her.

It's terrible but I have not visited her until now. She has lived in Atlantic Beach for 8 years. She is only about 1/2 mile from the beach and lives is a beautiful community. These are a few pictures of some of the homes. It looks like New England to me. Houses are very close together and the streets are narrow. Everyone seems to walk or ride a bike more then drive a car.

She gets ocean breezes thru her house and it's wonderful.

I could live near the beach.

I love the windows and the shingles. I think everyone should have a home in the mountains and one on or near the ocean.

I just want her to be better. I know she will get thru it. Right now this time seems long but when it's over it well be short.

Love you Debbie! Thanks for being my friend. I'm praying for you today.

We live here!

We live here!

They leave their shoes all over the place. The purses and book bags are dropped at the front door.

One is in college with a major of engineering, works and keeps her grades up to keep her bright future money coming in(Florida's Loto money for good grades).

The other is a senior in high school with very good grades. An editor for the yearbook that is on deadline right now. Plus taking AP classes. Has to be in school at 7:20 and sometimes doesn't get home until 6-7pm.

I'm trying to not nag, it's not easy. They will both be gone very soon. And then the house will always be picked up and cleaned up.

Will that make me happy? Maybe, but I bet I'm lonely.

So, I'm letting alot go right now. Yes, they are almost adults and I do get tired of picking up shoes all over the house and dishes in the living room.

But I do think they can and should put their dishes in the dishwasher and not just on the kitchen counter. I think I will talked about that more, without being a nag.

I don't want them to just remember being nagged at the last couple of years being home.

So, if you happen to stop by for coffee or maybe a glass of wine after 5pm you might see a few messes around here. I try to keep the dog hair vacumed up and the bathroom cleaned up. So please don't judge me. I hope you feel comfortable here.

We just live here.

What I find at My Thrift Store!

I'm sitting at my computer downloading the pictures for this post and I look out the window and my neighbor is putting these curb side!

I was in my pj's, so I had to run get dressed before someone else stopped.

Don't ask how many chairs I have now. But I can seat everyone of you if you came over for a glass of wine.

This is Renninger's Extravaganza. I went on Sunday by myself. I was there for 3hours and only saw about 1/3 of the place. I did buy old wooden snowshoes, I have been looking for them for a while. Too big for me. And I never saw so much junk. Real junk.

I think she means you too. Anyway, I have the best Thrift. I almost always find good stuff. That's why I go everyday. Sometime I have a dry spell but that's ok. This is why I need to start up an Etsy shop. I just love the hunt.

There are only 3 but these the the sweetest cup and saucer of milk glass. In great condition.

No chips or cracks

A refrigerator jug.

The glass bowl was made in Italy.

I like the size and shape of the milk glass vase.

Someone spent alot of time doing this. Why would they stop and then put them in the thrift?

I got a few of these. I'm putting newspaper in this one the my fire pit.

I should make some pillows out of them.

These cute old hats are just so pretty.

Do you think I have enough scrabble letters? The light bulb is 200 watts. I'm afraid to put it in a lamp. But I love the look.

I'm really into old books. I like this color and that it says Our Home. I have it right by the front door.

I love this glass jar. I had vintage ornaments in it for Christmas.

Ok, that's about 1 weeks worth. They open at 9am and they are working hard putting good stuff out for me. So I need to go.

Girlfriends!

My BFF came over last night while we were eating dinner. This use to happen all the time. You see, she use to live down the street from us. We both moved here 17 years ago. I was pregnant and her baby was 6 months old. We became fast friends. Alot has happened in our lives. She knows me so well and still loves me and my dysfunctional family. She is the friend that can come over when the house is a mess and not even notice. Let me tell you something about Lori, she is tall, thin, blonde and has big boobs! I'm not and don't. I really do try not to be in my bathing suit when she is. She still wears a bikini at 47/48! And looks amazing. And I don't hate her for it. Oh yah, she is even more beautiful on the inside.

Ok, I was thinking about taking a boot camp class in 1 hour, now I have to go.

I'm back. I did it. My first boot camp with another friend. This girl is such an inspiration to me. I'm just a luck girl. We use to go to La Fitness for a couple years and then I started slacking off. Now we have a new 24fitness even closer that she switch over too. Also, let me say she never stopped going to the gym. But she never judged me for not going. She always said-you'll come back when you are ready-and I did. Why do we stop doing something that feels so good? And she has an amazing blog! I had no clue she was such an amazing writer. She was my middle daughters girl scout leader forever and she is 20 now. I do have to say I had 3 great girl scout leaders.

I think this is getting to long.

Anyway, I'm a lucky girl. I have all kinds of friends. I still hang with some high school friends. I have friends that I don't talk to very often but when I do it's just like I saw them yesterday.

I'm going with Phyllis(high school) to visit Debbie(BFF high school) this weekend. Debbie has been my maid of honor a few times. But that's another blog. It took me a few times to get it right. I have been married 23yrs now. Alot of people don't know that about me.
