Winter Garden Florida!!

Welcome to Winter Garden, as the sign says.
Chic, The Boston Lady and I went to Winter Garden for a little junkin.  Yes, you can junk in Winter Garden.

Can you see them?

Mom and Dad tending the nest together.  I think that's wonderful.
The man should always be involved in child rearing..Don't you think?

Off to go food shopping!!
Those little ones get real hungry ya know.

Phyllis is ALIVE!!
The Boston Lady and I went to Winter Garden over a year ago and met Phyllis at the Feed Store.
She lives by the register.
They say she is bipolar, but I don't think so.  Look at that sweet face!  You can even hold her, if you feel the need.

Then there is bunny.  Who was very nice and liked Phyllis.  I think they are bff's.

And piggy!!
Her name is Pinky.  Why?  They don't know...

Who looked dead to me.  Didn't move a muscle.
We left for a while and came back to this.....

Pinky moved to the litter box!!
That makes perfec sense to me.

Tried to wake her up but she never would even open her eyes.

Here is Chic going in the Feed store to find all the treasures!!

It's a sweet little town.  There is a bike trail right through the middle of town.

Beautiful old homes.

I even like this one, I could do so much here!

Quaint old fire station.

With an old train out front.  I would think they use this as an office or something.

This one's around the corner.

Remember these?  I do.

And the guy in town.  RC Stevens was my step grandfather.  He started the company in downtown Orlando in the 20's I think.
Allyn Stevens, the best step father in the whole world was mine!!  He passed away about 6years ago.  I miss him so much.  It wasn't easy going in here and seeing huge pictures of Baca(we called him that) and Ray on the walls.  Because this was my life growing up.  The company is sold now and we don't have much of a connection anymore.  But I'm so glad they have kept the name and they honor these men because they are who made this company.
RC Stevens did have a lot to do with building Orlando.  A couple things they did were ORMC, called Orange Memorial in the beginning and the Science Center way back when it was first built.
Anyhoo, enough of that.
We had a great time.
We had lunch at the BBQ place, I didn't think to take a picture of it.  But it was great
It's a very small area, about 2 blocks.
I'm linking this because Winter Garden is Vintage and Thrifty!!
It's a beautiful day here in Central Florida.  I hope you are enjoying your day.

Karen Sue - What a quaint looking town. This looks like it could be in the center of the country, and not my vision of Florida at all. Beautiful birds....glad you were able to capture one with their wings spread. Feed store with real animals? So cool....but what's up with that pig? Quite the life. My brother's name is spelled the same as your step-grandfather. I always thought that spelling was kind of cool. Glad the new company is keeping the rich history of your family. Enjoyed your post!

I love that pig! Too funny. Feedstores are so much fun. I haven't been to WG in so long (I lived there for a bit back in the day).

Have a wonderful weekend,
