Flowers for my friend and his family

My friend from high school died on Monday. These are for him and his family.
I still live in the same zip code as when I went to high school. My girls have all gone to my high school. There are a lot of us still in this area. It's a strange feeling sometimes because I can't believe it's been 40 years since I graduated from high school.
I feel this is old Orlando before Disney.
He was on a cruise with his wife from high school and my old boyfriend and his wife. They few to LAX and where cruising the Panama Canal. He became very sick on board so they took him to the hospital in Panama. This was a few weeks ago. She stayed with him and the rest continued the cruise. Thinking everything would be ok. It wasn't. She has been there all this time by herself. Staying in a hotel. Only able to see him for 2 hours each day. Now my old boyfriend and my x husband have flown down to help her get him back. I'm telling you all this so you know how connected we all are. Some of you might not think we are still young but I do.
My thoughts and prayers are with them.

So sorry to hear about your friend. The flowers are lovely. On a side note, I did a double-take on how long ago you graduated. I guess I was thinking you were about a decade younger based on your pictures. You must be doing something right!

How sad that a fun trip turned so tragic. My thoughts are with all involved.

I am so sorry for your loss. It is a close community you live in and that brings great comfort. It's been over 40 years since I graduated from HS so I get it. I will be 60 in June but feel like I still have so much life left. I lost an X boyfriend last summer. It broke my heart, he just went way too soon. You and your friends are in my prayers.

KarenSue, I am so sorry for your loss, and for that of your friend's loss. I know this must be a very heartbreaking time for all of you. I am sure it is a great comfort to her to have a friend such as you.
Thank you for reminding me to live each day to the fullest.

KarenSue, I am so sorry to hear about your friend...it is such a reminder to all of us not to take our lives for granted, or leave anything unsaid or undone...I know he will be missed.

KarenSue, None of us can take life for granted and age makes no difference anymore. I am sorry about your friend. I know about the special friends you have in a close knit community. I like those places so much better then the larger cities for that very reason. We had our 50th class reunion last year so much fun. Your flowers are absolutely beautiful.
