Thrifty Thursday and Thrift'n on a Thursday

I'm putting my links at the top today.

Why?  I don't know..

I almost forgot the before again.

I got this last week with Kathy when we went junkin.
I love finding these old tool boxes that someone make.

I painted it with a mix of ASCP Old White and Provence.
I did just a little bit of sanding to shabby it up, more around the handle.

Then the clear wax and then dark wax ending with clear to even out the dark.
It so cool, I see it on a farm table filled with flowers.

Remember this little night table I showed you?

It is already white, pretty dirty.  I cleaned it up and then painted 2 coats of Old Ochre.  I think 1 coat would have been OK.

Sanded and then clear wax.
Do you sand then wax or wax then sand?

Here it is with the hardware on.
I like it, it's in the booth.

I also added these cute old sewing machine drawers I painted with the mix of Old White and Provence.
Clear wax then the dark again.  That seems to work the best for me.

This one is the original knob that I thought was perfect.

I switched this one to this cure little knob, it's a perfect match.

And this is my find at the thrift store yesterday.
It's huge and heavy.

I took the fake paper bird out.  I think I will shabby this up.
The Boston Lady and I are off to Mt Dora for more ASCP.  I'm out of Old White and the clear wax.
Stopping in a few shops and hopefully thrifts..
Enjoy your thrift'n Thursday!
xoxo

Love the tool box. I so wish I had my grandfather's carpentry box from when I was young.

Love your paint and sand and wax projects. Drooling a bit too (as is that paint/wax/sanding envy?) Anyway, great pieces. Tool boxes are so very handy for making vignettes.

Hi Sue,

The night table is looking great! I love the paint, wish we had it here. Too expensive to order overseas. Also love the knobs!

Hugs,
Sanna
