Thrifty Thursday

When I saw this on the cart to be brought out I felt like everyone was looking at it. I had to wait about 30 min. for them to bring the thing out. Then I walked really fast towards it and I was sure there where a bunch of women behind me trying to get it before me. And then I took my treasure home. Yes-it's a longaberger. The large picnic. $1.91! With the liner and protector.Happy Thursday!

A few treasures
Hello to all who visit me!I'm sorry I haven't posted for a few days. I'm having trouble downloading pictures and I like to have pictures with my posts. I thought I would show you some things I collect. I love old jars and old sewing things.
I found both these pillows at the thrift store for $1.91 each! The one on the right is linen with pretty embroidery, it's a long pillow from potterbarn. The other has a lot of texture and it's lined with silk. They have feather inserts that they came with!Monday, August 17, 2009

Hiking in Glacier and Riding dirt bikes.
Hiking in Glacier. This is what I love about hiking. Us city people get to see these beautiful creatures. I know he is not that wild, but to us this is amazing. Anyway-my husband is still in Montana. He better be back this weekend, I'm over it. When I called him yesterday I asked what are you doing. He said: I'm in the hospital getting an IV with antibiotics! He hurt his foot last week dirt bike riding-I told him to have it checked out- he did not. It's broken in about 15 places! He is 53yrs old. He is not going to die riding-he is just going to be crippled and I will have to take care of him when he is really old.
Anyway again-I'm off to a estate sale.
Have a fun day.

Where I sit around my home.

Front porch area.
Front yard. I have had this swing for about 20yrs. The seat did break last week. My mom bought this for me and she has been gone for 15yrs now-so it's hard to get rid of it.
This is my back porch. I got the sofa at the thrift store for $10.00. The cushions are covered with a Ralph Lauren twin sheet-from the thrift for $1.91. I make the pillow covers from scraps. The table and chair from a garage sale years ago. I forgot what I paid. But I'm sure it was cheap.
Sorry about the hose. Oh yah-there's Miley.Come on over and sit awhile. We can have a beverage and chat. I would just love to have you.
Smiles to you.

Waiting......

Waiting is hard. I'm trying to be good about it. I can usually take a few days but it's been two weeks and now he is not coming home until next weekend. The hardest time is dinner time. I never know if my two girls will be home for dinner..so what do I cook. I don't like cooking for one. I don't know how. So I eat cereal or yogurt and that doesn't work for me. Let me just tell you it's hard when you are use to doing for 5 and then it's just you. I'm a little lost. K...is 20 and going to UCF to be an engineer! What a smarty. She moving out of her apt. today and moving home. That's ok-we are glad. I just never know when she will be here. E....17 will be a senior this year. She is an editor on the yearbook staff. She is a busy girl. A.....27 is staying in Montana for now. Things start changing fast. Vacations become difficult because they all can't go anymore-jobs, school, growing up. So, this is what blogging is so good for. I wish I had it when mine where young. I wasn't good about journaling. This is great. Well thank you for listening. It helps to write it down. I have to clean out the shed today to put K....things in storage. Oh ya, that's another thing. They come an go!
Have a great weekend! It will be here soon.

I'm Back from beautiful Montana!

Hello everyone, we got back Friday. To get back we went planes, trains and automobile. We took the train from Whitefish Montana to Spokane Washington-how beautiful was that. I loved seeing the rural country and Mountains.
My hubbie is still there with the camera so I don't have pictures yet.
We ended up going 3,130 miles. Made a lot of site seeing stops. It was great. I had the map on my lab and said go that way. Thru Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas(tkt going thru construction area 67 in a 45),Missouri, Iowa, South Dakota, a little bit of Wyoming(Yellowstone) then last stop Lakeside Montana-7days. We have a cabin in Lakeside with a view of Flathead Lake. My oldest daughter is staying there to do a clinical in Occupational Therapy(OT). She thinks she might stay and work for a while. That's big for a Florida girl. We will see-whatever she wants to do.
Glad to be home and back to my world.
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by.
