Shabby Tool Box

Hello Blog land!  I'm not going to say I'm back because I don't seem to keep my word.
Anyway here is my shabby tool box I just painted one coat with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Old White. I buy mine from Robyn Story at Adjectives in Winter Park.  I love it!

I have been wanting to do this for a long time.  Why I procrastinated I don't know.  It took me all of about 10 minutes!

It's just so cool.

As I have shown you before I have a thing for old platters.  I'm very particular about what I buy, I don't care if they are chipped or cracked if they have that wonderful glazing and pretty flowers.

They usually have a date of some kind on the back.  Most are from around the 40's & 50's.
I usually get them for about $1.91 at the thrift, I won't pay more then $5.  That helps me keep my collection down.  Since I don't sell anymore it can be overwelming.

I did pick up the pretty cheese cover thing(forgot the name).  Paid $2.92 because it has cracks and chips!  The one next to it was "perfect" and was $24.24, you know which one I'm going for.

Never too many large pitchers!  See the chip in the spout?  $1.91!

Love hobnail!  These are from my friends daughters wedding in Montana.

Someone tell me to stop please.

I love drying roses and peonies.  Pick seems to do the best.

Thanks for visiting me!

Around the House today...

So to keep up my blogging I thought I would take a few photo's around the house.  I think I'm pretty good at buying but then I'm not very good at displaying them.

Sometimes I just put too much in one spot.  My Mom painted the plate, she was really getting good before she past away.  I always say I would have her locked in a room painting roses on everything if she were still here.

I bought the truck from my friend Susie Tross, it's one of my favorites!

I guess it's time to throw the pumpkins away.

My favorite candle from Anthropologie, volcano.

The story about the roosters is, I found one at the thrift and went back the next week and found the other!  I was so surprised no one else had gotten it.  Very heavy!

Outside the front door.  I love drying sunflowers, it's so easy.

I painted my Longaberger basket!  I think it's a sin...
I need to stencil Mail on it.

Love the color of this pumpkin but it's time to throw it away.

Thanks for the chair Kathy Bogan!  You know I love it!

My Christmas cactus keeps blooming every year.

Sneaking in a little Christmas here.

Hope you liked my photos!
The weather around the country has been crazy.  We were doing pretty good until today, we are under a tornado watch!
Thanksgiving is just around the corner.  I'm excited!
Thanks for visiting me!

Vintage Bottle Brush Christmas Trees

Since I don't have a booth anymore and don't sell my finds I have to be so careful what I buy.  There are a few things I just can't walk away from.  This is one of those things.

Vintage bottle brush Christmas trees.

I know they make pretty good new ones that look old but I try to get only the real old one.  This helps keep my buying down.

I could tell these were old because of the little stand and one still has the old sticker on it.

I haven't pulled out my Christmas decorations so these guys are out by themselves.  This is the first year we will be in Montana for Christmas so there won't be much decorating here in Florida this year.  I will do some for my friend that will be staying here with Archie, Lola B and Wesley.  It's so hard leaving them for such a long time.  Archie doesn't do well when I don't come home.

So this is why I go to the thrift store everyday.  You have to to get the good stuff!!
They cost me a big $1.91 each!!
See I'm trying to blog more!
Enjoy your day and thanks for visiting me.

Thrift Store Quilt

Hello there, I found this quilt at the Thrift Store yesterday and wanted to show it to someone.  I have been wanting to get back into blogging so I thought this would be a good start.

I know it's not old but I think it's hand made.  Look close at the stitching, what do you think?
I'm loving the back.  I think the contrast from the front is wonderful.

It cost me $11.11, not to bad.  There was the day I would have never paid that much but things are changing which they do every few years.
OK, short but sweet.  I wonder if anyone will read this.
No promises but I want to try to keep this going this time.

Happy Wednesday to you!
