I was lucky to be watching when one of the birds took it's first flight. Mo...Had the same thing happen at my house recently. Momma bird left the nest to take a break - and a magpie swooped in and grabbed an egg. She chased him but to no avail. Watched the whole thing from my kitchen window. Pretty soon all four eggs were gone, and now, so is the nest! Very sad. So much work goes into building the nests and taking care of the eggs!
